I love portillos their garbage salad is what I get almost every time. I have tried just about everything on the menu and am always impressed. My two complaints about this location is there is no alcohol. Some portillos do beer. Also sometimes they're inconsistency with making their salads. Sometimes I get dressing on the side and sometimes they automatically douse it. I forgot to ask for it on the side and it got douced. But most times I don't have to ask they just do it on the side. Not a big problem I just hate having soggy wet salads.

For a quick bite this can't be beat. I haven't considered the big three since I found out they beach their meat and coat everything in sugar. The garbage salad was huge, but a bit short on the dressing. The onion rings were on the money. Quick in and out. If I didn't check-in, I would have forgot to review it.

I like Portillos in New Lenox, but they should go learn how to do it right from other Portillo's. This one in New Lenox continues to disappoint. I gave them three stars cause there food is good but they constantly mess up on the orders. One time we ordered a large fry and the container was half full. Should have ordered a small if I wanted one. I got a beef n' cheddar croissant one time and there was hardly any beef on it. I also had an order were I told the kid in the drive through that I wanted the grilled chicken sandwich, but with french bread and not the bun. When I got home, there was no bun at all. Maybe I should stick to just getting a hot dog.

Decided to try Portillos since it was a new location in New Lenox. It was great food as usual. However I disliked the amount of booths available and I really hated their corner register. There was not enough room 3 different people all squeezed in. From the outside it is very appealing. I love portillos regardless. Experienced Around: Jun 24, 2013

6/10/14 We have been to 5 of your locations. Due to our move we are now 15 miles west of the Orland Park location. So we were glad to find the New Lenox location, so we thought only 10 miles away. Our last 3 orders were incorrect to 1 form or another. Yesterday upset us not to want to patronize this location ever again. We ordered a chopped salad along with a few more items. Upon driving home we found the chopped salad without all the usual ingredients and no dressing or roll. My wife was very upset, she called and the manager told here to save the salad for tomorrow and pick up dressing tomorrow. I drove back to Portillo's in the pouring rain with the incorrect salad, told the manager to provide us with a properly made salad or a refund. They made everything correctly and supplied required items. We are still upset and will never visit this location ever again. As Ruth states in her review, you can see employees on phones and goofing off. Management is poor and it shows in the constant mistakes.

First I have to say, that I try to avoid this place simply because the parking lot and drive through is a freaking trainwreck. And that's when it ISN'T busy. It gives me a serious anxiety attack. Besides that though, if I'm craving a hot dog with everything, I come here. The buns get soggy super fast, but the celery salt taste is perfect so it makes up for it. The fries are fine. I do like their chopped salad with little noodles, but I don't love the dressing. I'm used to it now, but it was awful when I first tried it. I'm sure I could change it, but I never ask...since I'm too stressed from the driving situation. Lol. I would probably have the opportunity to enjoy it more and give them more chances, but it's not worth the effort really. just so so

Unfortunately I am unable to post a picture to share the black, burned chicken I was unfortunate enough to find when I opened the sandwich I got from the drive thru (which, as others have commented, is really, really awful). When I got home and saw that I not only got the WRONG item, but it was black and burned, I called the store. The manager told me they were working with new equipment. I guess that justifies giving customers inedible food? Hey guys - if you wouldn't eat it, if you wouldn't serve it to your family - have the courtesy of not serving it to a paying customer! I can't imagine it would have been served to an on-premises customer either since they would see it and would immediately refuse it. The manager did send me a gift card. Great! I didn't really need dinner that night. And now I get to experience them again?

Tried it again tonight. Big mistake. Before the gal handed us our bag, she put the bag up to her mouth and laughed into it. Turned my stomach. We ordered 6 items. There were 3 items in the bag. Of course they left before we could catch them. Four workers standing outside just socializing. No one is paying attention to what they're doing. Ugh. Another 25 min and we are still sitting here waiting for our full order.

Long slow drive thru lines. Good Beef good Fries but they have made the beef portions smaller. It is disappointing that after a long wait in line and getting very hungry. After unwrapping my Beef to find it looks half the size it used to be. I am still hungry

This place was super hyped by my Chicagoland friends, but I do not see the massive draw. It is a hot dog you can get anywhere. But, the pickled sport peppers are very good. Our wait wasn't bad, and we came at a reasonable dinner time. The cake shake is just a shake. Not a vibe I go for.

I was so happy when I found out that New Lenox would become the home of one of Portilio's newest store locations. This store took some time to get off its feet, but I think it has come a long way since it opened. The wait time for several meals are still a little longer than from what I have experienced at other locations. As previous reviewers have stated, some of the store employees do appear to just be sitting around doing nothing. This may have something to do with the recent expansion of the company in the last few years or even more recently its sale. Long wait times aside, I have never had a bad meal from this store location. Their sandwiches, hotdogs, milkshakes, fries, and salads are all what I would expect to find at Portilo's. Here are several menu options that I have tried and loved: Roast Beef Sandwich. One of the best roast beefs in town. I would recommend getting it with mozzarella cheese, hot peppers, double dipped in gravy. It's a fantastic meal! Jumbo Hotdog with everything on it. A Jumbo all beef hotdog with onion, relish, tomato, hot peppers, mustard, and a speared pickle. This is the epitome of the Chicago Hotdog! A must try! I recommend ordering two. Fresh Chopped Salad. Ditalini pasta, crumbled bacon, romaine and iceberg lettuce, red cabbage, tomatoes, onion, gorgonzola cheese, chopped chicken, with a great blend of spices. Now a few things that I would stay clear of... The Cake Shake and the Malts. The Cake Shake take a piece of their famous chocolate cake and blends it with a chocolate shake. It is WAY too much chocolate for a desert for a regular person. I would only order this if you have a serious sweet tooth. As for the Malts, they are seriously lacking with the malt power.

I'm sitting about 42 cars back from the menu and of course this chick walks up asking what I want. I can't even browse what my options are!! Normally these lines look intimidating but move rather quickly but, oh, not tonight. I've already been sitting for about 14 minutes and there's no end in sight. The only redeeming quality is the guy who took my payment ACTUALLY asked to see my ID, which is written on the back of my credit card. No one ever does that. Hopefully the wait time improves at this location.

The beef sandwiches in Chicago hotdogs are delicious. Do not try the chocolate cake shake. There is way too much cake and not enough ice cream. They are always very busy on Friday night so make sure you go earlier if you want to quiet atmosphere.

It's the same food that you get at any Portillo's. delicious fries. Scrumptious sandwiches. Hearty Hot Dogs. I almost feel like it it pointless to review the food. It is consistently that awesome. After all my raves regarding the food why only two stars? This is a brand new Portillo's. I don't understand why the brains behind Portillo's could not figure out a layout by now. They have mastered the speedy drive through and incorporated historical themes to their locations. Why in the heck can't they design a location that is not a cluster? Enter the parking lot to a sign that says left turn only. You must weave through the parking lot to get to the drive through. The entrance of the drive through overlaps with the exit. By this, I mean those exiting the drive through must stop and go through any possible oncoming lot traffic (both car and foot). It's just ridiculous.

A new Portillos just opened us near us and I couldn't wait to get over there and have a salad. Ha ha ha, good one, Kathleen. I didn't even know Portillos HAD salad until recently. When I go to Portillos I am in a rut, a greasy rut. I always get a hot dog because their hotdogs are fabulous, for taste. I am sure nearly every ingredient which makes up this delightful dog is going to make me fat and give me cancer. I KNOW! But wait, I am not done with my order. I also get the cheese fries. I am not even a big fan of fries and no where else do I get them with cheese but somehow it just goes so well with the hot dog. I used to finish off my order with a coke. But no, that apparently wasn't unhealthy enough, my son in law introduced me to their chocolate cake which is sinfully delicious. Emphasis is on sinfully. Of course we had to check out the new Portillos and of course I got my normal order and the post meal guilt on the way home. This Portillos is super clean, organized and about a week old. People from this area are rushing to it like they have a hot dog with a weeping religious icon on it. It's because if you are going to do food which is bad for you it might as well be the best of that class and Portillos definitely is. Which is why I won't be back for another six months. The grease, salt and fat will call to me and I will forget the remorse and I will trek on back here. I don't always eat at Portillos but when I do, I make sure to eat like a greasy pig. Oink oink!

Mikey & Cathy again on the spot. Came back while I was in the area with my sister. Food was exceptionally good this time. Cathy had fresh coffee for my sister and a refill. The service is always great & the friendly ladies. I have sent more friends to this location and everyone agrees the service is great. Everything is spotless in the dining room and there is plenty of seating. Highly recommend for the old fashioned service everyone is looking for these days.

Too crowded. Have never figured out the drive thru strategy with ordering (without seeing menu) then paying then usually getting order wrong as other people behind me get their food before I do. Been told multiple times by the help working drive thru that they're "super crowded", or, my personal favorite, "we're slammed." One of my biggest pet peeves at restaurants, as if it's my concern that the place is crowded. Just bring me my (overpriced) food and say thanks while you do it. Usually an annoying experience which is too bad because the food is good.

Giving them only 2 stars because the ribs are always bad at this location. I've tried them 3 times. 1st time half of my full slab was ice cold. 2nd time they were really fatty. 3rd time half of the slab was burnt on one side. I do like portillos ribs but will not order them from this location.

I absolutely love Portillos! Living in LA puts Portillos among my favorite eats from home! They are best known for the hotdogs and beef sandwiches, which are both great, but my personal favortie and another top hit is the chopped salad. I get the dressing on the side because sometimes they put a lot on, and I would also recommend getting easy onion. This specific Portillos is usually pretty busy but it has a two lane drive thru.

I can't remember if I posted a review about this Portillo's or not, and I'm too lazy to go back to my reviews to... AH!!! I REMEMBER! Yes I did, but I'll post another review anyway. I'm still trying to find another place around New Lenox / Tinley Park / Orland Park area with a better Italian beef sandwich. I keep hearing Pop's is good, but i went there once, and was highly disappointed...maybe I'll try them again soon. Anyway, I still love Portillo's, and now have the urge to buy a chocolate cake shake...

I do love Portillo's an love their food. Sadly we sent for a lot of food $82 worth for a large family gathering last week and could not get a malt because the machine was broken and when the food got back to the house several things in the order were wrong. I say sadly as I live 5 hours away and was really looking forward to the food. And my sister was in from California. Would have been good if our food was correct!

The Italian Beef is the best around and rivals Mr. Beef. Their menus i loaded with great items from BBQ Ribs to the Chop Salad. You can't go wrong with the Maxwell Street Polish with mustard and Grilled Onions. New Lenox needed a quality greasy joint like this. The Malts and Shakes are amazing also.

Burgers

Burger or Hamburger is savored as the most desired fast food meal in the United States. A hamburger is basically a sandwich prepared by stuffing ground meat patty, generally beef, between two slices of a bun cut in half. Hamburger is also famous for its seasoning. Most popular condiments used in hamburgers in the United States are mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup. Besides ground meat patty, hamburgers are also stuffed with lettuce, onions, tomato slices, pickles, and cheese.

Hamburgers are also categorized into two types in the United States. Fast food hamburger and individual hamburgers served at restaurants are two basic types of burgers served in the United States. The individual hamburgers served at restaurants are prepared using everything including lettuce, onion, tomato, and sliced pickles as well as melted cheese on the patty or crumbled on top.
